Check the master cylinder. It's on the fire wall and is where the brake fluid is. There should be two full pools of fluid in it one for the back brakes and one for the front. If the front brakes have been bleed dry by a leak one of these pools will be empty or near empty. The other problem is vapor lock where air got in the brake line and won't let the brake fluid do it's job. If this is the case you will have to have the brake lines bled to get the air out. Then you will have to find out why the air got in in the 1st place. This could happen if there is a small leak somewhere in the system. get it to the garage before you hurt yourself or your car.

Brakes wear out. Fluid leaks out(and you get no brakes) Have a repair garage check it over (especially since front brakes are the most important ones for stopping under control and just stopping period.) No guessing here. It needs to be done otherwise park the car.
