is it ever ok to say to a guy that an aspect of his character reminds you of your father? Not meant as an insult or diss - but what would a guy think?

I have told people they remind me of family members and others. I don't see anything wrong with it, but if your father is cruel or something he might think you are saying he is like that. Think of it like that, when you compare someone to another person, they tend to look at the other person to see what they think reminds you of their similarities.

Depends when you say it and what reminds you of Dad. Could go either way. If he knows your Dad and gets along with him, more acceptable because he should relate to what you're saying. If not, zip it so u don't make him squirmy.

If he is a smart guy, he will smile and take it as a joke. If he is a dumb guy, he will agree to anything you say to him.

but i'm pretty sure he wouldn't like it.
i wouldn't like it if a guy told me he reminded me of his mother!!
so it's probably the same thing w/ them.
