You could be brushing too hard, may need a new toothbrush, you don't brush and floss enough, or early signs of gingivitis.

Its good that your gums bleed so that you know that your not brushing right if your gums bleed that means that your not brushing correctly its really minor but make sure you brush your teeth twice a day for at least 2 minutes and your teeth will be pearly white!!!!:)

I just had this very same thing. If you have not had a cleaning or checkup in over 5 years it is most likely periodontal disease. If you are a smoker that that increases your odds of getting this. I quit a year ago but smoking helped develop pockets in my gums which lead to it. I recommend going to the dentist ASAP as the costs to fix only increase the longer you wait. Plus you could start to loose your teeth or even die from heart disease. If this is what you have you will require a deep cleaning of the gums which isn't as bad as surgery but it is not pleasant or cheap.

gums bleeding has to do with not flossing everyday. Your gums get inflamed from the plaque in between your teeth along your gums, and it causes them to bleed - even when they are touched or just at random. That's a sign of an early stage of gingivitis. You should visit your dentist for a check-up and cleaning and start using mouth wash and flossing daily to get your gums back in shape.

Sounds like the start of gingivitis. You need to see your dentist soon and get this checked out as this could be serious.

Most likely it's Gingivitis. Worse case scenario, could be Periodontal disease. Get yourself to a dentist!
