Don't do the "don't keep it in the house" theory. That'll make you crave it more and overindulge when you finally get some. I reccomend keeping a small jar of Hershey's kisses or Miniatures. Allow yourself 2 pieces a day. You decide at what time to eat them. Like one at noon, one for "dessert". You'll find that you start forgetting there's a candy jar there and days will go by and you realize that you haven't eaten chocolate in a while.

At least that's what I do.

As a chocolate addict myself I found that the best way to give it up for awhile was to take it easy and slowly. Start by cutting down maybe 2 or 3 days in advance and then DONE! Get rid of it from the house and keep yourself motivated.

Get rid of all of the chocolate in the house but it is still good to eat chocolate because it is said to help people lose waite because it has a chemical that fills you up.

Stop eating it...lol
If you get the cravings, eat fat free chocolate and eventually, don't eat that either. It will take some time but you will quit. Occasionally eating chocolate is not bad.

If you can get through the first day you can do it forever. You must teach you mind and body to do what you want it to do. That means supply your body with a substitute. Example, Drink water evertime you smell or think about sweets. I've done it, hon. This really works

Substitute it with something else that you LOVE...whatever it may be. Certainly don't have easy access to chocolate...that just makes it harder to avoid temptation.

Don't eat it. When all is said and done, that's what it comes down to.

You could try chewing gum.
