The faint sound of Ella Fitzgerald drifts in from the living room. She loves the phonograph and record. It reminds her of childhood - her father used to let her crank in order to bring the music to life.
She's alone now, with no one to help her. She begins to hum with Ella in order to drown out the rodents' scratching inside the walls; to drown out the silence.
