what is the equivalence of a stone??

i heard more then once people in the uk refer to thier weight was stones...how does that convert to pounds or kilos??? for example if you weight 100 pounds or 45.6 kilos??

100 pounds = 7 stone 2 pounds.

If I remember correctly 1 stone is 14 pounds. So 100 pounds will be around 7 stones. 1 stone is about 6.3 kg (1 kg = 2.2 pounds).

yep, there are 14 pounds to a stone so if, for example, somebody says they weight 9 stone 12 pounds, they weigh a total of 138 pounds.
