You need to go see your doctor to be sure you didn't damage your ear canal and to get the other ear checked. Ear wax is in the ear to help keep dirt and debris out of the ear canal and as fresh wax is made it pushes the old wax out. THis is washed away when you wipe your ears out with a washcloth in the shower/bath. If your ears are producing to much wax you can use debrox ear drops to help keep it soft. Digging in your ears pushes the ear wax farther back into the ear canal so don't do this. This is most likely why you had a big bunch of wax in there in the first place. See your doc and get your ears checked to be sure you havne't done any damage so far.

There is a certain amount of wax in the ear to help protect the ear drum. If you have recently had an ear ache, ringing in the ear, and temporary hearing loss, this is a sign of an ear infection, which produces buildup from the bacteria. You could go to your local drug store and get the "over the counter" medication to loosen buildup or go to your doctor for a proper cleaning. Digging in your ears is not good, if you dig too far in the ear, you can damage or erupt the ear drum that can cause permanent hearing loss. If it persists, I would advise you to go to your doctor. You may have an inner ear infection, or just a blockage of ear wax.

Make an appointment to see your doctor. They can clean your ears in their office without harming your eardrums or pushing wax further into your ear canal. It's not painful.
Don't do it yourself and quit digging in your ears. Just call you doctor and make an appointment to have your ears examined. They will let you know if you need to have them cleaned or if you need to go to an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist.
Now call your doctor and step away from the Q~tips.

Stop digging and go see a doctor to get your ears flushed, the doctor can explain the proper way to flush at home and give you a schedule. Weren't you ever told " Never put anything in your ear except you elbow".? If you can't see it , don't dig for it!, let a doctor do it.

Go to your doctor and get it checked out. If you have wax build up, they can help you clean your ears out properly. Anytime that your having temporary hearing lose, you should get checked out. Your hearing isn't something you want to mess with.

As long as it comes out. DONT DIG. It should just come out...but you can use a bulb to squirt warm water into your ear canal once in a while. Go to the drug store and ask the pharmasist for a recommendation.
