If you read the rest of the verses regarding the incident you will see that God did fix Adam's missing rib...as soon as he took the rib...but he wanted to use that area of Adam to symbolize how our relationship with our wife should be. He did not want our wife to be our boss, or our slave...but our partner. He created man and woman...to be perfect and with the ability to choose. Man chose his wife over God...he was afraid he would not get to be with Eve if he didn't eat of the fruit (it doesn't say it was an apple). When they were caught, Adam blamed God saying the wife God gave him got him into that predicament; Eve blamed the snake, and the snake was cursed to crawl on it's belly, and Eve was cursed to obey her husband and have pain, and Adam was cursed to have to work hard for his money. There is symbolism in this story.

- Adam was created perfectly, there was no imperfection in Adams creation.
- After Adam was created God decided that Adam should not be alone.
- So God created woman from Adam for the purpose of man & woman being a part of each other to join as one.
GENESIS 2:21-24
21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept; and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof.
22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, 1 because she was taken out of Man. 2
24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

God did not consult man about the creation of women. Adam did not ask for a companion; he was not even aware of the deficiency in his life. Woman, like man, is entirely the Creator’s idea. Both are created in God’s image, which means they have free choice, and both are thus morally and spiritually equal in his eyes. The Creator “brought her to the man,” and he presents her with a courteous flourish. Man is instantly moved to poetry: “This one at last/ Is bond of my bones / And flesh of my flesh.” Now man has a “fitting companion,” different but equal, who stands upright and laughs and cries and talks like him. Both are naked, but neither is ashamed. They are as innocent as infants romping at the beach.
The Bible introduces the idea of the need for companionship before it even mentions sexuality and pro-creation. By introducing this concept first, the Bible makes the point that the companionship we offer our mates is the most enduring and rare gift we can bring to an intimate relationship. Sexual desire - although indispensable - may ebb and flow, but the need for companionship is constant. One rabbinical commentary suggests that women was created second so that man could experience loneliness and more fully appreciate his partner. Another opines that as Adam names the animals as they passed by him in pairs he commented: “Everything has a partner, but I have no partner.”

Adam was created a perfect person before his rib was removed to create Eve. Why you would assume otherwise is beyond me.

Dear Friend
Adam was perfect until he at the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
And as for the second part of your question, Everything the one true god does is perfect by definition.
God Bless

first of all, their is no Hebrew word rib, that is the original language of the ole testament
the best research I have seen says God took something from his SIDE , or INSIDE
some feel this is the 2 x chromosomes women have, taken from inside Adam.
Men and women have the same # of ribs

By definition, it is impossible for "God" to take out a rib and make another person out of it.
