In the days of talking donkeys and talking snakes those things were quite common. I wonder if Aslan was there too.

The bible says that the woman who would later be named "Eve" was thoroughly deceived.

(1 Timothy 2:14) Adam was not deceived, but the woman was thoroughly deceived

(Genesis 3:13) Jehovah God said to the woman: “What is this you have done?” To this the woman replied: “The serpent - it deceived me

(Genesis 3:20) After this Adam called his wife’s name Eve


Interestingly, sandwiched between those verses at Genesis 3:15 is an important prophecy for Jesus' day and the near future...

Because he was not a snake before the curse, but an upright creature that was to be a worker for Adam. Gen. 3:14 shows you what God did after the curse.

The world was new back then. Maybe she had never seen a snake before and she thought that it was normal for a snake to talk when she first saw one.
