Where exactly on the hip? That might not be the best spot for a tattoo if you plant to get pregnant because, if in front, that area tends to expand quite a bit and will usually end up with stretch marks from the skin having to "grow" so quickly. The stretch marks will ruin the tattoo and make touching it up very difficult because scars can be very unpredictable and have a strong tendency to "blow out". If on the side of the hip, however, most women tend to have a bit of fat there so that the tattooing wouldn't be right over a bone, which tends to be the most painful spots... (most women also have fat on the lower back, which makes the area less painful to work with).
"Tramp stamp" (lower back) tattoos are very popular these days. I would suggest perhaps rays of sunshine going to the sides a bit so that it isn't as small as just a sun (but, hey, it's your tattoo). If you decide to expand your tattoos into a backpiece, do you think you'd be able to incorporate the sun well (such as a setting sun), or would the position be awkward? If you do decide to go the backpiece road, you could place the sun at a place such as the back of your neck (though this can be a *painful* spot to tattoo) or between the shoulderblades.
One thing I try to mention to people is that many people tend to get "addicted" to body modification and that they shouldn't limit their possibilities for later on.
Well, as for a suggestion, if you want to keep to only a few tattoos, I've seen a lot of fairies alongside butterflies and flowers... perhaps you could get a tattoo of one on your other hip? You could easily go for a "girlie garden" backpiece. I have some examples I'd drawn that could help give you an idea, but they're in storage halfway across the country.

I love the butterfly on the flower idea. I think that tattoos are beautiful and a way to express yourself. Also, with it being on your hip and lower back it can be covered up if you work in a professional/office type setting. I have a shamrock on my back to symbolize my background and a flower and kanji symbol on my foot. I think that tattoos are beautiful and a great way to honor something in your life. GO FOR IT!

Are you asking if those would be good on a female, or that you already have them and what do people think now? I think that is great, wear them with pride.
