I have heard that not all old laptops will run Linux. I would like to put Ubuntu or Suse on an old IBM/Lenovo PIII. Will this be OK?

linux ubuntu and suse normally requires 256mb ram,but 129mb will be ok
as long as you can boot from cd,you should be able to run these linux distro,s
from my experience with linux its not so much the make and model of the laptop but more the specific hardware thats in the laptop, problems arise with onboard graphic solutions
but yours sounds ok,i have ran suse on a compaq amarda 4210 with windows98 and 128mb ram so yours should be no problem
good luck
