Prometheus. He came down to earth to give fire (a gift to mankind), but then by the will of his sky-god father, he was nailed to a wall where he suffered. But then he was resurrected to sit at his father's right side. Too bad religions can't sue for copyright infringement.
A second I have to say is Crom. I used to talk on the Time-Life magazine religion messageboards, before they were taken down several years ago. A bunch of us regluar posters spanning all different kinds of faiths had this whole joke going on about being desciples of Crom.
Still gotta give props to FSM and Thor, who got a day of the week directly damed after him (Thursday).
