What fruit? The Bible says in Gen.2:9 That every tree in the garden was good for food, So now you have to find out what happen. I know, But I have been over this many times, So you do a little searching. It had nothing to do with fruit. What did God curse, The serpent. Gen:3:14 into the reptile family, & not Before the curse, & God cursed Eve's Reproductive organs, & God cursed the ground for Adam sake. So try to find out what that tree of knowledge of good & evil was & the tree of life, Those 2 trees did not grow out of the ground . They were in the midst of the garden, They were 2 laws of reproduction. and if Eve would not had given in to the serpent, every child would have been born with eternal life, But since she gave in to the serpent, she also knew that this sex act is also good for pleasure, Now you can all give me the thumbs down.

1) They were innocent and didn't know right from wrong, kind of like little kids who don't necessarily know why it's wrong to lie or hit, only that their parents told them not to and they shouldn't. that's why the Bible refers to the eating of the fruit as "Adam's Transgression" and not "Adam's Sin". It was a transgression of the law, but not an outright sin, since sin implies knowledge of right and wrong. That is why Satan told them their "eyes would be opened", he wanted them to crave knowledge.

2) They couldn't have children. That's why after living in the Garden for years upon years, they only had children upon leaving. Even if they had been physically capable of producing offspring, they lacked the knowledge of how to do so due to their innocence (#1)

3) They couldn't die; as with everything else in the Garden, they were immortal

4) They knew no joy or happiness because they knew no misery or sadness. All they knew was existence.

HI XXL,

There were several differences, and no they were not perfect, they were immortal (not subject to physical death), but not perfect. In fact, from a experience point of view, we in our current state have progressed beyond that which Adam and Eve could have ever hoped to gain while in the garden.

You might say that in terms of enlightenment, the result of correct application of knowledge (also termed wisdom), we are more advanced that they were while in the garden.

How else were they different, well they did not have the need of want. All was provided. As such how could they understand the application of charity, the meaning of service, the joy of assisting another to grow. There were many things that were not yet available to them as learning and growth experiences. They could not achieve them in that state.

They weren't any different. Except maybe the fact that the world did not know good and evil. Yet when we are born we are just like them in everyway.

P.S. Many Christians will disagree with me on this issue. But I think they are mistaken.

UPDATE:
If they exsisted or not, when you read scripture it does not testify that they were any different. They were born sinless. So are we!! We are born sinless as well. I mean yes they are different because they were formed by God himself and did not come into the world through child birth.

Also, the curse on the ground was removed with the flood.

Easy question to answer- Adam and Eve were different from us before they ate the fruit because they were sinless then.

They were spiritual beings more than physical.
Their communication skills were not limited to auditory/verbal responses.
They were covered with the shekinah.
They ruled a garden the size of New Jersey and tended it without exhaustion.

Genesis 2:7 says, "And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." In the beginning, God created the figure of a man with the dust of the earth and then breathed into his nostrils "the breath of life." When the breath of life came in contact with man's body, the soul was produced. The soul is the consummation of man's body and his spirit. This is why the Bible calls man "a living soul." This "breath of life" is man's spirit, the source of man's life. The Lord Jesus tells us that "it is the Spirit who gives life" (John 6:63). This breath of life comes from the Creator. Yet we should not confuse this spirit, which is the "breath of life," with the Holy Spirit of God. There is a difference between the Holy Spirit and the human spirit. Romans 8:16 shows us that the spirit of man is different from the Holy Spirit; the two are not the same. "The Spirit Himself witnesses with our spirit that we are children of God." The word "life" in the expression "the breath of life" is chay; it is plural in number. This tells us that God's breathing produces two lives, a spiritual one and a soulish one. This means that when God's breath of life entered the human body, it became the spirit. At the same time, when this spirit came in contact with the body, it produced the soul. This is the source of the two lives, the spiritual life and the soulish life, within us. But we should make a distinction here: this spirit is not the life of God Himself; it is merely "the breath of the Almighty [which] hath given me life" (Job 33:4). It is not the entrance of the uncreated life of God into man. The spirit that was received in the beginning is not the life of God that we received at the time of our regeneration. The life which we received at the time of our regeneration is the life of God Himself; it is the life represented by the tree of life. This spirit of man is eternal, but it does not have the "eternal life."

they would have never died if they never sinned
and they lived in a world that foreshadowed heaven
they did not eat meat
the work was without toil
they were not affected by the fall
they were totally able to choose good or evil
our natures are tinged with the sin of the fall and we cannot do anything with totally pure motives

Jesus could say "no man comes to Me unless the Father draws him" because we need grace to respond

They were innocent.
they were blind to the evil in the world around them.
And when the Serpent lured Eve into eating the Forbidden Fruit, they became aware of sin.

Two main differences. They had perfect bodies that could not die. They were as little children and had not real understanding of what was right or wrong.
