The bible was re-written so many times its hard to know what was real and what isn't.

Like many other works of fiction (Like, say, the DaVinci Code) the bible does intersperse facts with the fantasy. So there are accurate historical references in it, but on the whole it is a work of fiction.

It's a fable, written down after hundreds of years of re-telling through too many generations to count. The stories in it surely are not the original ones. Think about it: What happens to a rumor going around in a group of friends? It gets exaggerated and extended. Imagine the rumor going through hundreds of years of re-telling. The Bible belongs in the fiction section.

It is not a fiction story. It is a holy scripture. Unfortunately its true meaning is lost today since there are almost no genuine representatives which can reveal it to the ordinary people. There is a great need today of persons who correctly understand the Bible and the instructions of Lord Jesus Christ and live according to them.

I actually used to think the same exact thing. It was written by man and man makes mistakes.... Until I actually read the bible for myself. I opened it up and started reading a few parts in Psalms, and I felt something in my soul just light up. I knew then it wasn't fake like I thought it was.

I like the Young's Literal Translation. It was translated word for word from the Hebrew and Greek. My friend and I actually found a mistake in the more popular translations while comparing the two. Where it normally says "God is a jealous God" it actually says "God is a zealous God". Zealous means fully devoted. We went in our regular bibles and wrote a z over the j haha.

I will admit there are mistakes in modern translation. Sometimes people think it says the same thing when it doesn't. like the Jealous and Zealous... Two COMPLETELY different meanings. But the bible itself.... you just feel something when reading it. I've read buddhist teachings along with several other religions. Nothing else EVER felt like it was calling my soul like the Bible did.

i believe there are true life events within the bible that happened, but i also think many events were over exagerated, but they have already found to much evidence to prove many stories within the bible, so whos to say which ones are real and not...

I think it's based loosely around real people and events, but it's certainly a work of fiction.

I believe the bible is based on truth, but written by man. Since God gave man the ability to do what ever he wants, I believe some things were emphasized a little more than originally intended.

I think it is based on historical facts, but it has been exaggerated (for lack of a better word). It's kind of like taking the life of a historical figure and turning him into something bigger than life.

There are some facts in the Bible, but for the most part I do believe it is fantasy.
