It takes about 1/3 of a pound of pesticides to produce 1 cotton t-shirt. Around 180 -250 pounds of chemical fertilizer is used on 1 acre of cotton in the U.S., most of which washes off and ends up in the water supply or habitat.

Do you think it's time we "go organic" with respect to buying clothes?

I think it is time we start buying as many organic products as possible. Food, clothing, soap, household cleaners.... buying organic is better for the environment, therefore should always be considered.
