that occurs naturally: Poisonous plants, dangerous and poisonous animals, weather, earthquakes, volcanoes...

Now, I understand that the religious answer will be "sin"...so, the second part of my question is this: Is making the world that difficult to survive in really a suitable punishment for gaining knowledge?

The earth is here for all life.

It was created for all that live and dwell on earth, animals and plants...remember humans are animals too. But, if it was no danger, then what would make life interesting? It would be so boooring. No adventure, no learning which animals or plants to mess with or avoid, no animals to domesticate, balance the ecosystem, (coyotes eat the fast-reproducing rabbits)...i like it how it is. Yet, now I feel bad for all those creatures who are not humans. They have way more dangers than us. The plants wonder will wonder, "Will they cut us down today?" The animals are trying to dodge cars.

The earth was created for every living creature that dwells upon it. Our world really is not that difficult to survive in, generation after generation does just fine. The trials and tribulations that we face successfully (with faith in God) in this world makes us stronger. You cannot live a rewarding life without challenge. Pain nourishes courage. You can't be brave if you've only had wonderful things happen to you. Some of the worlds natural disasters just make us stronger. When you have faith in God you know that you will be rewarded in heaven, for the deeds you do on earth today.

God bless

The forces that created this perfect place for mankind are the same forces that will destroy it. Whether God is the author of those mechanisms or not. Global warming existed long before we came along and caused a tiny ripple in its effect. Geological forces and other environmental things such as weather will continue long after we're gone.

Unless the planet does not outsurvive us as the Book of Revelation seems to suggest.

Isn't it also true that many of the things that are dangerous are also helpful when used correctly? Take the car for example. Many people have been killed in them since it was first invented but does that mean that we shouldn't have created it? Had someone said, "I have an idea (car) it will benefit many people but it will also kill many, would you have voted for it?

We are here to gain knowledge, be tried and tested. If you don't have the bad you'll never know the good. Oposition in all things is how we learn. Good question!

I don't see how sin could effect the bottom of the ocean, it is probably one the most dangerious places to go to and there are no 'naughty humans over there. The earth was obviously not only created for humans, i think it's more selfish to put yourself above animals than it is to put yourself above god(s).

(For all we know, gods are our creation anyway.)

Because it wasn't created for us.

Have you heard Neil DeGrasse Speak? He covers this exact subject and calls it stupid design. Very interesting. And he's a good speaker. :)

The impact of the fall was great. As a result of the fall, sin came into the world. God did curse the earth and that curse brought forth thorns and thistles and so were harmful creatures. See the quote below:

'Gen 3:17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; Gen 3:18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee.'

All these happened because of sin. How sad.

But in Mark, Jesus promised to his followers such as follows:

'Mar 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Mar 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
Mar 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
Mar 16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.'

This depends on your faith. But testing to prove the point is forbidden as Jesus told the devil at the time of his temptation by teh devil. However, as this is what we see in the world, no one can change it except your belief that God through Jesus will clean up every mess and complication. Your criticism and complaint making you disagreeable or hating God and His ways will help no one. The after life is important to be our concern. Your disbelief leads you to a terrible end whereas your belief will give you a chance to ask Him when you meet God face to face, if you think it is necessary in paradise to do so.

I guess it is to weed people out for population control. We, like squirrels, snakes and oppossums are all animals, and as animals, the strongest genetic code gets passed on to the next generation in order to make that species more viable and likely to continue. if everything was peachy-keen, then everyone would live and therefore make our population gene pool weaker-much like us humans are doing today.
