my 18 yr old grand daughter left home 2- days ago/shes a senior in hi.school/staying at afreinds,the past months her grades had dropped>quit two jobs/nasty attitude/the whole family isdevisted/we do't know whate to do-please help Grandmom

If you want turn her in to dr. phil. It sounds like she might be doing drugs and/or have an addiction of some sort.

at 18 it's a tough call. you don't really have a leg to stand on at that age. why did she move out? if there are problems within the family you might suggest family counseling but, she would have to be open to the idea and willing to put forth the effort.a compromise must be met in order for all to get along.the only other thing is,if she wants to be on her own, then she must be totally on her own. she can't have her freedom and still have the perks of her family.ie; no money,rides, paid cell phone, car(if its in her parents name.maybe once she see's that, she'll start to realize just how important her family is. remember, the parents may have to compromise some too. it's a 2-way street. i wish i could be more help. i'm in a similar situation. best of luck to you and your family. god bless.

She needs alot of love and attention. I have an 18 yr old daughter myself and sometimes it is not easy. But, you just
have to really listen to what they are saying and not just brush them off ! It might sound like peanuts to you, but to her it could be the end of the world. Don't laugh off her problems, really pay attention ! Obviously, something is bothering her big time. It could be something as simple as low self-esteem not necessarily drugs ! Communication is the key.
