No, it's not true. For a "low heart beat" (bradycardia), there are a number of potential treatments, none of which is shocking you with the paddles you see on t.v. Many people take medications. For some, it requires a pacemaker to be implanted to ensure that if the hear rate drops below a certain point (usually 60 beats per minute) the pacemaker will step in and speed the heart up. If the docs have found nothing wrong with you, then you probably have nothing to worry about. If you are having symptoms when your heart rate is low (dizzy, lightheaded, short of breath, chest pain, nausea, sweating, fatigue), then you need to go back to the doc or see another doc for a second opinion. Keep in mind that bradycardia is sometimes a side effect of other medications, so make sure that this isn't being caused by a medication that you're already taking. I hope this helps.

A low heartrate is a condition called bradycardia. Many people who exercise frequently have heartrates in the 40s. Using a defibrillator is not a good idea in your case. If it was causing problems a pacemaker would be more likely, but if it is not causing issues than it is not a problem.

Low heart rate can be very serious. It just depends how slow it is. Talk to a doctor, if they are concerned you may need a pacemaker. If it is not that low you may just need to exercise and change your diet.

Bradycardia, slow heart beat need not be life threatening. Unless you are too weak and your heart is in danger of stopping, they won't use the defribillators. Have they put you on any medication?

No, if you were shocked with a defibrillator, it would stop your beating heart.
