We are going on an overseas trip this summer. The flight is approximately 11 hours- overnight. We have 4 children, ages 8,5,4, and 2. What are some tricks all you experienced travellers have used to keep things under control??? They are generally well-behaved, but the 2 year old is at that really active stage. I don't want to medicate, as I have seen many people recommend because it actually has an oposite effect on all my children. Any help out there would be greatly appreciated!

I came back from Korea with a 18 month ago and a 2 1/2 year old a few years ago. Coloring books, extra snacks, lots of things to do. Don't even think that the stewardesses are going to help in the least. They won't. They will be just a judgemental and demanding as the other passengers. To be honest, keep them up a little and get them tired once on the plane they can sleep. When they wake they will be hungry. Really hungry. Something about the movement makes them sleep extra hard. Extra diapers or pull ups. A change of shirts and pants for the young ones. Accidents happen. Take your extra large Mommy purse for the trip. Keep your attitude positive, let the negitive responses for another battle. Good luck.

Pack plenty of video games and allot of activities for them to do. Many flights that long have TV and activities for the kids. Take the kids to a park the day your flight leaves and keep them up all day just having fun. When it comes time for the flight they will be so tired that they wont know what to do with themselves. (they will wine all day tho)

Strap 'em in and threaten them with death if they so much as move.

This technique worked for my father when I was a child, it should work for you as well.
