Part of it is gray. The outer layer, called the cortex, is a tan-gray color, crisscrossed with red/purple arteries and veins. The deeper areas, called white matter, are just that: white.

Live human brain is not gray.
The fresh/living brain is actually very soft, jelly-like and deep red. They do not become firm and gray until they have been preserved with various chemicals/resins. (which is why when students study cadavers, the brain is gray)

There is part of the brain that is called "gray matter" it is gray but their is also "white matter" which isn't as noticeable. Psychologists say that the brain smells like blue cheese!

I did see one accident in my country, motorbike with truck, one motorbike hit another motorbike, and that motorbike fall off the bike, then came the truck hit the head of the biker, and suddenly you can see the brain came out, my Godness.. its pink in color.. its not gray..
