The VQ engine is a 2.0 L to 4.0 L V6 piston engine from Nissan. It is an aluminum DOHC 4-valve design with aluminum heads. Later versions feature variable valve timing. This engine is widely considered to be the world's benchmark V6 engine for its combination of smoothness, reliability and high power output.

I personally have an experiense with the VQ35DE in the Pathfinder 2004 model i should say thought engine silence is due to body insulation and exhaust design coz both work hand in hand for good noise reduction.

In the sixties, Chrysler produced a turbine powered car. It was a shame they never did a production run for this car, The engine would be running and you were never able to tell. Even if you stood next to it. One of the bests ideas using this engine was the fact that any liquid that would burn could be used as fuel. This idea of a turbine powered car also showed up as an Indy race car. The STP turbine powered Indy racer. Now that was a car.
