His mother's information doesn't sound too reliable (and she sounds like a bit of a slag too).

You could always try hiring a private detective. It might cost a bit, but they'll do all the leg work for you and they might come up with something you might not be able to looking on your own.

Here are several ideas which may be of assistance. First of all your boyfriend should have his original birth certificate. On the original birth certificate it should list the mother and the father. If the birth mother did not list the father, then you may have to hire a private investigator to help. If you can somehow find another identifying document such as a national id number, drivers license number you can find him. Since you are in London and I am not too familiar with how documents are kept, you can go to a place where citizens documents are kept, such as a courthouse and ask to see the documents from the hospital where he was born. If that hospital is not still around the documents still should be kept somewhere in a safe and secure environment. These are a few ideas, but if it was me I would just go ahead and hire a private investigator, he can access records and documents that you cannot access.

Put an add in the London papers asking for anyone who knew Kim Middleton. Include the Nan's name too. You can find out from them who Kim was going with around the time that your boyfriend was conceived.

My daughter's boyfriend has a similar situation. This boy is 17, was born in New Jersey, and I think his mother lied to him about his father, saying the father thought more of his work than he did of them. The mom gave the boy her maiden name and has since moved to another state. Poor guy will never know for sure what the truth is and he never saw his father. I'll watch this question for answers though, and maybe get some ideas which might help him when he is older and wants to find his dad.

You could try the Salvation Army. They helped a friend of mine to find her Mum. Good luck.
