I was laying in bed with my son (15 months) this morning because he woke up crying. All of the sudden I heard a reeeeeally loud girgling squishing sound coming from his belly. Within ten seconds he was puking liquids up all over the bed. I picked him up and for the next two or three minutes he sat there and kept swallowing. This is the first time one of my children has ever puked. He seems fine. Could it have been acid reflux?

It was obviously the flu. My 3 year old went down for a nap yesterday at 2:30 and slept right until 6:45 this morning.

sounds like a tummy bug. it could last for just 24 hours and that could be the only time he throws up or it can be 2-3 days of throwing up. just keep liquids in him and bland food until you know its ok.

the first time my little guy threw up freaked me out a little also. he was 16 or 17 months. first i thought it might have been food poisoning(my sister also was puking at the same time) but then after a day and a half he just ended up with a cold. i am guessing it was the flu. i wouldn't give him any solids just go with liquids like broth soup and pedialyte of gatorade! your pediatrician can run some tests i would imagine to find out for sure.
i wouldn't think it was acid reflux unless he just got done eating something

If he had had some food to eat, he could have regurgitated that way and it could simply be a stomach bug. Give him clear liquids for the next 24 hours and during that time see go over what he had eaten previously. That might help point you in the direction of the upset stomach

Acid reflux might be one possibility, but more than likely it's a virus. The same thing happened to my son last year and it turned out to be a 24 hour bug. As long as he stays hydrated he should be fine. I know it's scary when your child just pukes out of nowhere.

Had he eaten any new foods before he threw up? You might want to pay attention to what he is eating. It might be nothing, but it could also be a food allergy. I would call your doctor to be safe.

I would think more likely it is the flu.
