As a dental nurse i believe anybody over the age of 60 should be exempt from dental charges, sadly the government dont seem to agree with me.
Your only exempt from the charges if you are one of the following
1-under 18 years of age
2-are in a young offenders institute
3-are pregnant or had a baby in the last year
4-receive job seekers allowance
5-are named on a NHS tax exemption certificate
6-receive pension credit (state pension sadly does not count)
Housing benefit, disability benefit will not exempt you from dental
charges.
Try filling in and sending off an HC1 form and you may be intitiled to a NHS tax exemption certificate!
Good luck. x x x

A good guide is that if you pay rent and council tax then you will have to pay for your teeth as this would point to you not receiving any benefits on top of your pension.
If you do receive benefits on top of your pension then you will not have to pay for them.
