Beluga caviar is actually the most expensive caviar. Even more expensive than Beluga is a spice called saffron. It looks like little fine red hairs. Saffron costs more per pound than gold, at times. You can always count on a good bottle of wine too!

The french truffle, is very expensive it is almost mushroom like. It is wild and is so rare the price is extortionate. Also most shell fish are very expensive, can i be so nosey as to ask why you need this ?

How about fresh Chilean Sea Bass (rare these days), or smoked Black Cod from Alaska (real smoked, not liquid-smoked) or Fanny Bay Oysters from British Columbia? Or black truffles from Provence, field melons from Cavaillon or real prosciutto from Parma? Vanilla beans, saffron threads, foie gras, morelle mushrooms..........I could go on.

truffles, not the chocolates, they are a bit like mushrooms and in france they send pigs to sniff them out. I have just read that and realised who wierd it sounds but it is true. Very expensive, often used in post restaurants but only like small amounts!!!
