Ok heres the deal: I play in a band and its a second job basically-i have to be there on time, play no matter what unless an emergency. If i let these people down, they dont get paid and vice versa. Heres the problem: I have to play on Valentines Day night from 11-1:30. I also have to work from 9-4:30 witouth a lunch break and go to class from 5-7:45. So that gives me no more 3 hours to do something with my girlfriend. Well my girlfriend is very needy and stubborn and has reccommened I ask to take the night off because she has something planned for me and well, as hard as tried, the boys cant find anyone to replace me. Is it wrong for her to get mad then? I plan on asking her to see if shed like to celebrate it a day earlier, like tomorrow. Im sacrficing a lot here, and yes, we have to work around my schedule, usualy most of the time if we both want to hang out . But if she gets mad, is it even worth being with her? Weve been dating 3 months...I need advice from both males and females

It does not seem like much to change the date. and if she is so inflexible that she cant change her plans, maybe you should change girlfriends. It could be a long life with someone who controls you constantly....

In my opinion if she truly cares for you she will understand your time frame. In this day and age, she should consider herself lucky you are trying to work around your schedule to be with her. I personally think she is being selfish, it sounds like you are giving her options. Having Valentine's Day the day before is a wonderful idea. Why doesn't she go where you are playing in the band, couldn't she be out in the audience? I don't have anyone or let alone a decent dating option for Valentine's Day, would she prefer that? You need to keep your job's, if she loves you she'll work around it. You just don't want to be doing this all the time, as she will get tired of it.

Eh, I feel like she should understand. I am in a band too and its not easy getting paid gigs and especially not cool to let down your fellow band mates. Celebrating a day early could work but why not just push back your plans after the gig or split them up? You can have dinner with her between class and the gig and then after the gig you can have a midnight picnic or something like that.

i would say tuff to her i stand up and applaud you for working two jobs and also having the work ethic of yrs gone by to know that jobs always come first

TY FOR BEING A PRODUCTIVE CHILD IN SOCIETY

now back to your question
as we get older job and work ethics always come first
we have to work on holidays and birth days hell some of us work the weekends or late nights so to her i say TUFF TUBBIES grow the hell up and realize the WORLD DOES NOT REVOLVE AROUND YOU

my honey and i dont always get special days off so we just move them ahead or back and wait til you have kids then you are really SOL for time together

she sounds like a real "winner" to only think of herself
