If you sign up for the army, you will always have the chance of being sent to war. It goes with the territory. That is why it is called the "Army" as opposed to "Disarmy" or "Pacifery".
You should not get the benefits of joining an organization meant for the defense of our nation while expecting to avoid the obligations. In the army you could be called on to bear arms for your country in war, you WILL be called on to bear arms in preparedness to defend our country.
Contrary to the rantings of Middleman, you will be prepared as best as possible if you have to go into war. Unlike Middleman, I have been in the army and know the training and equipment is some of the best in the world. OF course that could change if the Dumbocrats get ahold of military administration. There is where your concern should lie. If we get another Clinton or Clinton clone in the presidency, the military will go straight to hell just like it did the last time.

A lot of different things factor into whether you will deploy or not...
your MOS and your assignment are the most crucial.
Roughly fifty percent of the personnel in the Army HAVE NOT deployed, while others are on their third or fourth deployment.

If you are planning to join the army you should expect to go to war. That is what the army is far you know. Besides if you are planning on staying in for a career you need that CIB to make rank.

Probably, but are you infantry, com, artillery, MP, admin, medical, what do you do in the Army? The answer to your question will depend heavily on your MOS.

first you have to through basic training aka boot camp. then when he army needs you they will send you to war. Lately you will get deployed asap, as soon as they think you're ready.
btw don't join if you dont want to go to war, it seems like you are applying that.

Not necessarily. It depends on where your first duty station is. If you get put with a unit that's deploying, then yes, they'll send you. If not, then you won't.

If you sign up, you will go wherever they want you to. And you will go without propper equipment, or support, or regard for your safety. Isn't it amazing that on the websites where soilders can ask for donations, they ask for things like Powerbars and socks? Our guys & gals are not being taken care of.
