In a semi-professional context, if a girl is playing with her hair and flicking it, lots of eye contact, and puts her hand on your upper arm as you are walking??

she wants you to be attracted to her and it sounds like she is attracted to you. the hair thing is the give away, and if she is inititating physical contact, sounds like you are in like flynn.
And, it is "in like Flynn"
Please see link.
Kind of makes you wish you would have double checked before you told ME I was the one who was incorrect, huh??

It all matters on your views; there is no actual definition to being a real person, there are only opinions. However, by listening to others, you can develop your own definition as to what you consider a "real person" as. To me, not being able to properly express feelings doesn't make you any less human. If you feel the emotions/feelings, that is enough. We are all different, there is no reason to try to put us against each other. There are many who show feelings differently, and everybody must learn to respect that. We are all humans. Of course, not being able to properly express yourself might make your life a bit more troublesome than usual; finding a job, interacting, etc. It is still manageable, however. We are all different. Yet, we are all the same. Personally, I would rather be with somebody who loves the moment without saying it. What is the point of somebody using the word "love", without feeling? No matter how real it may seem, the fact will remain, it is an artificial lie.

This "astute" woman isn't quite sure what you mean by "semi-professional."

Beyond that, she is definitely flirting with you. Without knowing more, it's hard to say whether she's flirting with or without a definite motive. If she's not serious/sincere, she has crossed a line with the bodily contact, IMO, but maybe her boundaries are different than mine.

It depends on the woman and what her underlying motivations may be.

She could be interested in pursuing a personal relationship with you and this is an way to signal she is interested in you making the next move, or she could be using the ole "Hooter's" waitresses trick to manipulate you into supporting her professionally by subtly pretending she has a personal interest and or really cares about you when she only wants something from you.

sounds like she's flirting.
and it sounds like you're a nerd.
It's ok! Calm down. Clean off your pocket protector. She just likes your attention. Either she is romanticly interested and she is making her oppurtunity to move in on you or you have a stable healthy relationship as her friend and she is comfortable enough to show you affection but wants to make sure there is a line drawn some where.

She is certainly flirting....I don't know more...maybe she is interested in you for more than flirting...but this is something you must find out yourself.
