I've been physically abused once, left him and moved on, back in '03 got married and he mentally abused me, divorced him and it has changed my life considerably. My new boyfriend knows about my past, and is nothing but sweet and never tells me that i'm stupid, or can't do something. He always encourages me and never lays his hands on me in anger. It is possible to "break the cycle" good luck to any and all of you who have had to deal with the life of an abused wife/girlfriend.

I have been with a man for five years and he is an alcoholic. When I was 6 weeks pregnant he beat me, although at the time I did not know it. I managed to get out of the house and I called the cops. He was arrested, got probation, and fines. He has not done it like that since then which our son is a happy healthy 16 month old. When he was getting arrested he fell down a flight of stairs and had fractured his skull in 3 places. he has slowed down on his drinking but he still gets biligerent when he gets drunk. There is so much to the story but I do not know what else to say right now. I just thought Iwould share.

I've known some couples who like that dynamic. The guy had no self control and wouldnt end it and the girl was neurotic drama queen who looked for trouble. Always end the relationship fast and be honest.
