you may deduct mileage at the standard rate or actual expenses, not both. you are required to keep track of your miles to differentiate between personal and business use.also if your employer reimburses you, you may or may not deduct for mileage depending on if there reimbursement plan is an approved or non approved reimbursement plan of the irs. you may need to check with your hr department.... a good hint on this would be do you receive a w2 or 1099 from your employer and if a w2 is the reimbursement included in your gross wages or not.

No. You may take either the mileage rate OR pro-rata actual expenses, NOT both.

No. It's one or the other.

Either way you need to track your mileage to distinguish between "business" and "personal" miles.

Only if your job requires you to drive your own car and does not reimburse you for gas, repairs, etc. If they do there is no way you can do it.
