If you are a Canadian citizen, no (But you must have photographic identification).

If you are NOT a Canadian citizen, the answer is yes ... although you won't always be asked for it. You will, at any major airports, but not necessarily at the smaller local ones.

Basically, if you're not Canadian, it's better to be safe than sorry ... particularly since you were probably required to show one to enter the country in the first place.

you do not need a passeport to travel within canada but you must show a id card with photos when you pick up your boarding pass at the airport and when you board your plane if you dont have a id card you must show your passeport if you are a citizen of any others country then these one
usa, uk, france, australia, italia, germany you must show your passeport

Just recently the passport laws were changed and if i remember right htye just implemented that one. where you have to have a passport to travel into and out of canada.

i am not sure so double check.

New law passed. Not only do you need one for Canada but also for Mexico.
