I had my hair dyed professionally on thursday. I started having a reaction friday morning. itching, redness, swollen glands. It is now monday and my glands in my head are still swollen and they hurt. Has anyone ever reacted like this and if so, what did you do about it?

It sounds as if you are having an allergic reaction to the dye. Call your local poison control center right away. I dyed my daughter's hair with a popular temporary coloring agent several years ago. There were no harsh chemicals in the product. She started to cough and choke within several hours of the coloring; dye was seeping from her tongue! In hysterics, I called the poison control center and gave the dye ingredients on the product box. The nurse said the product was safe and had no explanation as to why the dye was in her tongue. I also called our family doctor, who had no clues to offer. We have not colored her hair since! She had no lasting issues, other than the dye in her mouth. She did not swallow the dye or have her mouth open during the coloring process, either.

It is possibly a reaction to the dye, usually it effects where the product has touched the skin but it can happen anywhere. Take an antihistamine and try the patch test again. If the reaction continues or gets worse then don't use the product!.

i have never had that reaction but obviously you are allergic to something that was in the hair dye i would suggest not dying your hair anymore. maybe if you really really want to i would find out which ingredient you are allergic to and find a hair dye that doesn't have that in it

I have, but it never lasted that long. I wouldn't dye my hair again if I were you.
