I am marrying in Las Vegas, and plan to do a lot of walking after the wedding. Is this OK?

One of my best freinds did this but no one really knew because her gown was long. She changed into her "real shoes" for her wedding garter pics in private right before the pics. Her other pics were taken with tennis shoes and all that walking around was done in comfort.

I also suggest that if you are planning to change shoes to wear the uncomfortable ones with socks on before the wedding day for a few hours to break them in and in truth if you do this a for a couple of hours for a couple of weeks you might find them comfortable enough to wear without the tennis shoes

I've never seen it myself, but I think you can do whatever you want. One of my friends got married outside and he and his bride were both barefoot because that's what they wanted.
I had two receptions and for the second reception I brought all my stuff to the hall to get ready, but I left my nice shoes at the hotel so I was stuck with the ratty flipflops I'd come in. My dress was long enough that no one even noticed.
As an alternative to sneakers, you could find a comfortable pair of white flipflops, which would be slightly dressier.
Also, you should be careful that the dress will not be too long if you're not wearing heels. It would be nice if it covered your sneakers, but you don't want it dragging on the ground and getting really dirty if you're walking around a lot.

I had a friend who did it, and I thought it was really cute. There were a couple of problems, though--she never wore the shoes before the wedding, and she told me at the end of the day her feet were sore and blistered anyways from "wearing in" brand new shoes. They were also big and clunky to the point that she kept tripping over her dress walking down the aisle. My advice would be to make sure the shoes are actually comfortable and you can actually walk some distance in them under the wedding gown.

Absolutely!! Why put more stress in the day by wearing uncomfortable shoes?? The two sites below are just dozens that carry comfortable and functional tennie runners, sandals and slippers that work well with any style dress! I am wearing cowboy boots under my dress because I know I will be doing alot of dancing at my reception... it's all about me and how I feel... not how someone else thinks I should look!! Best wishes!

That's your decision but yes, just last year we attended a wedding and the bride chose to wear tennis shoes under her gown.

I've seen brides change into tennis shoes after the ceremony. And I've seen a bride who no shoes at all, but only spongebob squarepants socks (yes, during the ceremony). It's Vegas, baby, you can do whatever you want!

I say its your day and you can wear WHATEVER you want!!! I wanted to wear flip flops and a lot of people thought that I needed to wear heals so I would feel pretty. If I would have worn heals I would have been very uncomfortable and not very steady. I would look for a cute pair of white tennis shoes or some sort of slip on that is comfortable. There are a lot of options out there!!! Do what makes you comfortable!!! Good luck!!

I am sure you have thought of this, but be sure to take both sets of shoes to the fittings. You dont want the bottom hem of your dress to be ruined by a 1/4 inch difference in height....I have seen lots of brides in ballet slippers after the 1st dance.....where on earth are you walking to?

totally, especially at the reception, but I have seen lots of girls wear some decorated tennis shoes or keds or something like that the whole time, I'm wearin pretty heels to the wedding to make my dress not be too long but changin to some platform flip flops for the reception. you could change the shoelaces to pretty sheer ribbon and maybe add some beads or rhinestones to glam um up a little.....lord, my sister is plannin to wear rainboots under her bridesmaid dress (long story) and they won't show so I don't care! go for it!
