She will be filing as a married woman, whether filing jointly or separately. Same as when a couple has a baby by Dec. 31. The baby can be claimed for the whole year.
But check with your tax office to be sure. Don't depend on some of the answers here. They didn't even interpret your question correctly! LOL

I am sorry to tell you this but yes, they get to claim the child. You are only sending a portion of support to the child and they are doing the majority of supporting. The only way for you to claim the child is to get custody. Now if you have joint custody you get to claim the child every other year. Your ex getting married has nothing to do with the money you send for child support. And your ex has the right to go back to the courts every year for a cost of living raise.

for taxes, No , she was your dependant for the year. You might have to prorate the deduction if she married during the year.
Call the tax department information line for details.
If you are paying child support , that usually ends on marriage.
Check with the family court to be sure.

Her spouse I believe, because I had my daughter in December and I was able to claim her for the entire year. but I think that you might want to call and talk to a tax professional about that.

Yes, her new husband is entitled to claim her for the entire year, but if you talk with them they may let you do this instead.

Well, the spouse wouldn't be claiming her, she'd be claiming herself. And I would think not in this case; for that year she would still be one of your dependents.
