I want to enlist after I finish college. But I was considering talking to a recruiter. But I am 2 years away from finishing college. I am a sophmore right now. I don't know should I be patient, and wait to talk to a recruiter. So any ideas? Because I heard there are some programs where you can still go to college, and be enlisted into the military. The branch I want to join is the USCG. An there is something called Split-Time Program. Thanks for any tips.

But I don't be bothering the recruiter yet. I mean there busy trying to enlist recruits ready to join. I won't be able t join till next summer. But I was also interested in SCEP, and STEP for maybe this Summer to even get myself more prepared. But thanks for the help.

You will never be bothering a recruiter.. Answering your questions is their job.. whether you plan on enlisting now or in 2 years.. Most will be happy to answer any questions and tell you all the options and programs you could get involved in..

Get in touch with a local recruiter and ask about the Coast Guard Student Reserve. The Coasties don't have an ROTC program like other branches which could afford to offset your tuition and books, but this is an interesting program.

My first suggestion..finish college. go into the coast guard as an officer, more money and a better life. and yes you can go to college and be in the military, you will just have to take less classes and probably do them at night. as far as talking to a recruiter goes, dont worry about him being busy, go talk to him., get the facts, and start making your decisions. but really think about finishing college first man. good luck dude.

I don't know much about the coast guard actually but I am assuming it works pretty much the same as the other services. So yes you can go to school and enlist. The military will pay for your schooling and possibly (depending on job) help you pay off existing student loans, tuition.

All of your questions should be presented to your nearest recruiter. That would be your best bet. You will get the latest information available that way.

Wish you the best.
