What I mean is, are there specific points that you can relate that to you, meant God is real and you should believe. Not just believing because you were raised to.

I ask this because I was raised to believe and for the longest time I turned away from that. Now, Im not so sure what my belief is. I have been going to church. I can pin point specific things that made me go and why I continue to go. But being logical, I needed what my senses tell me is there also. I just wondered if anyone else had those same instances.

When I found that I can not fight all life's questions and situations someone said to me,"when you are at the end of the rope, tie a knot and hang on." I did that and still not dropped.

I grew up being not much of anything from a religious stand point. My family attended various Churches. and the last I remember was Lutheran. How ever after marriage I tried many different types. One day a person came to my door and ask me if I believe in God? I replied yes I did and that I believe that the bible was his word and true. He then ask me who I thought God was? I said Jesus, He then ask me to read a scripture in Psalms, 83:18
That the first time I had ever heard God's name. I was about 30 yrs. old. So in my inner self I wondered why I could be 30 and attended many different churches for many years and never know that God had a name, and that he alone was the most high over the earth.
It took me about six months of weekly bible study to come to basic appreciation of what God's plans are for the earth and mankind. And what Jesus was talking about as to his kingdom and what it would do for all who applied themselves to follow his commands : Mathew 28:18,19. So in conclusion I can only say that the first thing needed is basic bible study to understand the real truth. To remove the false teachings that we grow up with. To sound down into your heart and live by God's laws. The reward will be everlasting life on earth. which was God's plans from the beginning. See Mathew 5:5 and Psalms 37:9-11,29

I was raised christian, one day about 10 years ago I was defending my faith and was challenged to read the bible. The whole thing and so I did. Now I am not christian, I am confused. I have found a site that has been very helpful to me in my search.

the only thing that I believe with 100% of my heart is their is a father creater of our soul and if I choose love/fellowship over dominion/controling others and truely desire to be back with father that is where I will be.

My marriage was on the brink of divorce. When I had no one to turn to I turned to Christ, that was 2 years ago and my marriage keeps growing as my relationship with Jesus Christ grew. I was an egotistical, self centered prick.

One night while reading the bible God led me to the scripture in Ephesians 5: 25 – 32. This is how a man is to love his wife He told me. As Christ loved the church.

How does Christ love the church? He sacrificed himself to sanctify us. He died so that we could live. And that life he died to give us is not mediocre. It is “radiant,” “without stain or wrinkle or blemish, and “holy.” We might say that Christ gave his whole self that we might become our best selves. If you give your whole self to your wife it will bring out her best qualities.

The scripture concludes saying: “Each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband”. Husbands, if you want your wife to respect you, then love her. Devote yourself to her best interests. Take care of her better than you care for your own body. As you do, you will find that a happy wife makes for a very happy life.

Today I acknowledge that Jesus is Lord over my life and accept him as my savior and redeemer. Jesus said “I am the Way, the Truth and the Light and no one can come to the father except through me”. That is why I believe.

I was not raised in any religion...my parents decided to let me decide for myself when I was older.

In my late teens/early twenties, I had an experience that proved God's existence to me. There is no way to describe or conceptionalize it...other than saying I felt God's presence. It is a poor description, but the only one I have.

I have always known God exists since then...there is no way for me to disbelieve what I myself experienced.

Well, we invited a guy with the gift of prophecy to come over. As he laid his hand on my shoulder to pray over me, I felt this overwhelming sensation of electricity in the air. They said it was the Holy Spirit. I was shaking and it wasn't cold either. Then he gave the prophecy, he pinned down stuff about me I never told him. God was talking to him and i could feel that it was real. Also my aunt had this back pain for 10 years, he prayed over her in Jesus name and it was gone! There were also healings you could actually see! Like having one leg shorter than the other? He evened them out! It was pretty cool!:) Well, that's my experience!:D

Nothing ever happened to cause me to believe. Nothing happened that caused me to stop believing either. You just grow.
