I gained some weight in my 20s, because I was used to being able to eat whatever I wanted and stay small. That changes gradually as you get older and it is much more difficult to take off as you get older, also.
I would suggest eating more fruits and vegitables. No fast food and keep away from sugar and anything with white flour in it. Remember, everything in moderation. You can't eat like you did in your teens.

yeah, you will gain weight. I was 6'2" 195 when I turned 21 and now at almost 27, I'm at about 235. They key really is to stay active, which I didn't do. I never felt like I had the time for college, a job, and being active. I'd say a good majority of the weight gain was from drinking, but when I slowed down, I was able to drop the weight.

Some people gain weight in their 20s just like the rest of us who gain weight in the teens, thirties, forties and fifties. If the intake of food is high, and the output of energy is low, naturally the extras are stored away under the skin. Your metabolism slows down as you grow older and you do not burn up as much calories. People who take up desk jobs or sedentary jobs are faced with this problem of weight gain and have to find ways to exercise . You could turn this weight gain into muscle gains by building up the body.

Yep... About this time, you can go through a final stage of puberty where you, broaden. Your metabolism settles down into it's adult stage, and your liver is finally fully developed.
Congratulations, you now have your adult body.
Now, throw away your scale, and take a nice long look in the mirror. How does that look? If the 20 pounds looks good on your frame, then keep it! Stop comparing your adult self to your adolescent self - it's an unrealistic comparison. But, if you see a couple places where it wouldn't hurt to firm up the muscles, then you really need to get consistant exercise.

I would guess people gain weight in their 20's especially in the U.S. when we hit that wonderful 21st birthday. Suddenly, we are able to overload our bodies with the empty calories consumed from alcohol, and its finally legal! I noticed a lot of my friends really put on quite a bit of weight from 21 to 22. I think it happens so gradually no one really notices until... bang there you are with 25 pounds extra baggage. So if that 21 mark finally gives you the legal ability to purchase and consume alchohol you might want to seriously rethink your eating and exercising habits before you really notice the extra weight. Good luck...

We become more sedentary and with age, our bodies want to hold on to more "fat" than when we were younger. Get into the habit of maintaining the size you like now as it becomes harder to get back in shape as the years progress.
