Barrett M-107, 50 cal bullet.

The destructive power of any weapon depends solely upon the abilities of the person using it.

That said, the largest and most destructive round for use in a Sniper Rifle is the 14.5 x 114mm Soviet, fired from a Hungarian Gepard M3.

Firing the powerful 14.5mm AP Bullet, with a muzzle velocity of 3280 fps, it can penetrate 25mm of homogenous armor plating at 600 meters. It has a range well in excess of 1500 yards.

People will talk about calibers all day long. The rifle is a tool, there are many tools in the tool box to get the job done. The most destructive sniper rifle on earth is the one with a well trained and skilled sniper behind it. Doesnt matter if its a 22cal, 9X39mm or a 7.62x54mm, if you dont hit the target, it doesn't matter what the caliber of the rifle is. I would prefer the AS50 over the Barrett M82A1, but would rather shoot with a Remington 700 or M40 Sniper Weapson System.

AS have been stated... Its not the rifle... Any rifle in the hands of a qualified Sniper will do.

While the Barrett is an awesome weapon, it weighs a ton, and not effective in many applications. For me, the old reliable M-1 Garand, or Remington 700 will do.

Give a British sniper the L96, as in Basra and then see what he can do with a sniper rifle, but before that the Self Loading Rifle (SLR)7.62 was a beast in the right hands with or without a scope

Your use of the term 'destructive' sets the standard for candidates to have a large calibre, not any 7.62mm rifle will do... Clearly we're looking for an anti-materiel rifle here, and the Barrett 0.50cal is the most widely used and highly regarded anti-materiel rifle here. It is generally used to destroy enemy supplies and installations, hence the term 'anti-materiel', but can also be used against personnel, and is particularly effective at killing drivers of vehicles such as Humvees and trucks by punching through the windscreen.

The best would be the Heckler and koch PSG1, loke my name lol, this rifle shoots withing one minuit of arc, it can hit a target within a 80mm circle from up to 300m although some people have been known too hit a target from over 1500m, it has a free floating barrell so that bad weathers dont affect the straight line of the rifle, the stock is made of high impact plastic, the trigger and stock are both adjustable, 10m shell ejection, it is not bolt action, holds clips with up to 50 rounds in, length=120.8cm, weight=8.10kg and the scope shows zoom from 100-600m

Barrett M-107, 50 cal bullet. is actually the most powerful sniper rifle for range, accuracy and firepower. even the gun is better than the rest as you dont need to load single bullets it has a 10 round clip (for 50 cal that is dam impressive)

The Barret M107 .50 calibre sniper rifle
can hit a target over 2200 meters.
It also depends on the person using the weapon and the type of ammo, there's lots to choose from.

Got to be the man and not the machine. A .50 Browing is a very handy weapon in the right hands, but so is a 7.65 FN. I go with the .50 Barrat. Though the AK is a major killer in its various forms.
