I can't find anything that's healthy and quick in the morning (low fat) that keeps me full until I can take a lunch. A bagel works, but...hmm, no butter, no cream cheese, and all those carbs. Cereal, fruit.......I'm hungry an hour later. I'd eat non-breakfast items, but I can't find that satisfying thing. And I have to have my coffee too. Any ideas?

It probably won't keep you full till lunch but try a bowl of instant oatmeal with some fruit on it. Low fat, moderate fiber. Fiber is what will help fill you up. Add a piece of whole grain toast and that's even better. Add some water after coffee. That will swell the fiber and help the fullness, it will also replace some of the water lost due to the diuretic effect of the caffeine.

I eat a high fiber breakfast...

Oatmeal
Light English Muffin (100 cals, 8g of fiber), toasted, with pureed strawberries on top.
Banana
Black Coffee.

Under 400 calories, keeps me full for 5 hours. If you like bagels, try a whole wheat mini bagel (120 cals, 3g of fiber) with a wedge of Laughing Cow cheese (35 calories). That with an egg and a piece of fruit would be a well-balanced meal.

Those "instant breakfast" shakes are actually pretty filling. Those (or the diet variety of the same things) are quick, easy, filling, and relatively healthy. As for getting hungry an hour later, try packing a granola bar or a banana for when you get hungry again. Its better to eat a lot of small meals instead of 3 big ones anyway.

Fast breakfast - cereal bar, banana or peanut butter on wholewheat toast/bagel and semi-skim milk. Peanut butter and milk is a really good combo as it makes a complete protein and stops you getting hungry too soon!

If you've a bit more time have meusli with yoghurt or a high-fibre cereal and a glass of juice.

An omelet in a bag.

1/2 carton of egg beaters or a couple of eggs, veggies, fat free cheese, seasoning -- or anything you want, basically

Put everything into a quart sized ziplock bag, drop into a pot of boiling water for 15 minutes - continue getting ready, no watching the stove.

Serve with whole grain wheat toast, with spray butter, a banana, and your coffee, give that a try!

Try oatmeal. It is very filling. Add some fruit to it. Or try a high fiber dry cereal. Fiber is very filling and you won't get hungry an hour later.

I have plain yoghurt with granola and fruit.
Lots of healthy things in there, but more filling than just cereal.
Also it takes 30 seconds to prepare.

scrambled eggs - made with water, not milk, on brown toast with proper baked beans, eg. Heinz, not supermarket's own brands, because I think the Heinz are better for you. Or tinned tomatoes - you can get ones with flavouring in them so they're still really good, but taste more exciting than just tomatoes in juice. That'll see you right through to lunch. Plus, you can make scrambled egg in the microwave in 2 minutes, while your toast is cooking.
