You find a purse containing 8000 dollars. The purse also has a visiting card wherein the name of the owner of purse has been given. You go to his house and hand him over the purse. The person is very pleased and draws a note of 1000 dollars from purse and asks you to accept it for your honesty.

What would you do in this situation?

Would you accept that note?

What would be your reaction?

yes i would take it if the person offers. just thinking about it for one second someone else could have found it and ran off with the 8000, so since u were so kind to return the purse the owner think that giving a 1000 is a way of showing u his gratitude.

I wouldn't give them back the money I would keep if for my self. I know that might sound mean but alot of people feel that way. I'd say finders keepers loosers weepers. But since u are a honest person then i'd say accept the note and be happy with it.

Well it depends on if you need the money but if you don't then all you have to do is just don't except because they might just be testing you to see if you would take it but i mean their just not going to give you 1000 dollars for returning their money.

Hmmmm 1/8 of the total as a reward -- I'd be crazy to not accept it.

Now if it was a little old lady/man, naaa, I'd feel too guilty to take that big of a reward.

HOWEVER, I would never EXPECT any reward for doing good.

I would not accept the reward. I would let the person know that seeing the money with its rightful owner is pleasure enough. I'd kindly decline the offer and bid them adieu.

I don't need a hand out.

I would take the money and give it to charity in his/her name as well as my own.

You don't take money for being honest and you don't take hand outs when you are already rich.
