Simple - while landing and takeoff - put your mind in some work - like reading papers, journals or any magazines or listen any music on your iPod etc - the point is to involve yourself in some other thing so as your mind stay away from it and you will see some improvement...

You can try it...

umm thats what is sappossed to happen if they dont pop then the pressure will buiild up in your ear and will make hurt your ears so that you will not be able to hear anymore

this will always happen-eat a piece of hard candy-don't bite it just suck on it-seems to make the pop quicker and less painless

Suck on a boiled sweet or mints as when you swallow your saliva it helps with this.
