I've never heard it put like that, but there is "Teach your grandmother to suck eggs" (sometimes shortened to "Teach your grandmother"), meaning "Stop trying to tell me how to do something I already know perfectly well how to do".

I can't find an origin for it but it's at least a couple of hundred years old.

Hope this helps!

From the old pastime of putting a hole in each end of an egg and blowing the yolk out leaving an empty egg to decorate.
Grandmas were very good at it although I suppose the saying should be dont teach your gran to blow eggs.

My Mum used to say to me that she should, "stop teaching my grandmother to suck eggs"! First time I heard it I said, "What?????"
