I think that it is one of the best things we can do. How else will we understand other people? How can we say anything about things we have never studied? How can we know we are on a good path if we do not even know what else exists? Why would it be necessary for us to be in constant conflict with all non-Christians? Understanding others promotes peace by annihilating ignorance. Jesus promoted peace (we call him the Prince of Peace don't we?) and constantly wiped out ignorance. You are totally on the right track. Could people that never study things know what they are talking about or is that the exact definition of ignorance? Do not let ignorant people stop you from promoting peace and understanding as you strengthen your faith through knowledge. God gave you a brain so that you could use it. I think you are totally on the right track.

First thing first, you have to make sure of your belief and your religion first. Why focus yourself on others belief if you are not yet familiar with yourself.
If you are 100% sure you know yourself and the boundaries all around you, then it is a very nice gesture to share what you have gain in learning your religion so that people may have some idea and see how your relationship to JESUS mold you and shape you into a better person. And the next step to do is to aim the best, to be like Christ Jesus.
How would you say and embrace others belief when you are not yet familiar about things and the root of your belief. Your sincerity and faithfulness is about to be disputable.

No there is nothing wrong with learning about other religions at all. The problem comes when people start to incorporate what they are learning into their own beliefs. Take no other God before him. Just don't believe everything you hear in fact there are even differences in Christian church's depending on where you go.

As a Christian, I inquired about Mormonism - which only strengthened my beliefs in Christianity.
If your heart and mind are strong enough NOT to get sucked in to some other religion, then I don't think there is anything wrong with finding out what others believe and practice.
I believe open conversation is far better than a judgmental heart.

Be careful not to give the devil a foot hold. Have not the apperance of evil. If you investigate other religions, you are responsible for what you hear and see. Are you sure you can learn all of this without absorbing it. Why do you think God told the kings of the old testament to totally wipe out certain nations? He didn't want them to learn of the religious practices of that nation because it would corrupt his people. Stick with spending time in prayer and reading the Bible.

I think learning is ALWAYS the most important part of LIFE.
Learning about other cultures, religions and accepting diversity makes you a more spiritual person. Your faith will be challenged by new information, yet often times it will grow in a more mature and informed way. You become a better christian and person.

I have learned about other religions. Originally it was for college. But it has helped me understand what they believe so I can explain to them how and why I believe Christianity is the one true faith.

As long as you don't get steered away from your faith in Christ, I don't see learning about a new religion wrong as long as it's used as a purpose for a good debate.

Absolutely not. In fact, it would be good to learn the religious beliefs of other people. What our world needs is more inter-religious dialogue not religious intolerance.
Peace and every blessing.
