I absolutely agree, as I sit here shaking my leg, something all the girls in my family seem to do. I believe its an inherited condition. You should see us when we're all together. It's like syncronised swimming I tell you. But seriously, I try very hard not to do it in situations where it bothersome to people. Sometimes people do it because they're nervous.

Agree--these people need to learn to chill. My upstairs neighbour is tapping her feet or swinging her chair the whole time she's standing or sitting down...you can hear through the floor, squeak, squeak, tap, tap...it drives me mad. No consideration for others. She also goes to sleep with the TV blaring away. Obviously she is afraid to be alone and has issues.

Sounds as though you are wound up, to let such insignificant things annoy you,
Try taking a holiday or chill out some other way

My Wife would certainly agree with you, I have a nasty habit
of not only tapping ,but I also have the habit of jangling the coins in my pocket . Sad isn't-it.

Tappers are the worst, and funnily enough most of them are men, why is that? Or is that another question needed to be asked on this site?
The thing is most tappers don't even know they are doing it. I usually throw a book or snatch away the thing being fiddled with, like a clicking pen, Ugh!!

I agree with the first part. The second, they could if they would control themselves. I dont think they even know they are doing! Constant movement gets on my nerves very fast.

I,too, find tapping irritating. What about cracking knuckles,
twiddling thumbs,almost inaudible humming?
It is as bad as coughing during concerts, talks and deonstrations!

Only when other people do it.
When I do it I am jamming with psychic melodies of the spiritual universe...
