How long has this gone on? And how many caffeinated drinks after would you have this reaction? You can go for an allergy test, where they will analyze your blood. It's good to learn 1. whether you are allergic to caffeine. 2. if yes, how bad is the allergy. In severe cases the doctors will put that information in your medical file in case of emergency. (It can get worse in some allergy, if you keep going without having it figured out).
Check if your insurance covers that test. Your family doctor can guide you through the process.
Meanwhile, go easy on coffee, if you must drink, choose the decaffeinated type.

Caffeine does make the heart pump faster. This is why you feel that 'lift' after drinking a caffeine beverage. Your lighthead feeling could be related to your blood pressure. Don't waste time and get it checked by a doctor. Most of the blood pressure machines that are in public places are known to be unreliable. Besides, that, your doctor will ask questions about your lifestyle, the drinks and food you consume and may even check your heart and have your blood tested to make sure he can give you the right answer.

Every time I see a pretty girl my heart does the same thing. Its just a normal reaction. You might be more sensitive or aware of its affects so you decide whether you want to continue taking caffeine and how much.

Have had the same problem, some people are more sensitive to stimulants, just about everything on the market has a caffeine free version . I have to watch cold medicine esp. decongestants it does the same thing.

Yes very normal.
In Natural medicine/ herbal medicine Caffiene is used as a stimulant.
Too much though can cause heart palpitations and cause more problems than it helps.
If you have sugar in the caffiene drink that can also cause light headedness as your stomach draws blood to it away from the head to help the digestion process and dilution of the sugar.

Not normal. You are allergic to caffeine. Don't need a doctor, just stay off it. There are decaff coffees, teas, sodas.
