There are lots of suggestions on how to figure out your shape, from outlining your face shape on a mirror with lipstick to draping it with a towel and asking others to help you guess the shape. But, there is actually a scientific way to determine your face shape once and for all.
To find out the shape of your face, measure it with a tape measure or ruler. You will take the following measurements.

1. Measure your face across the top of your cheekbones. Write down the measurement on a piece of paper.
2. Measure across your jaw line from the widest point to the widest point. Write down the measurement.
3. Measure across your forehead at the widest point. Generally the widest point will be somewhere about halfway between your eyebrows and your hairline. Write down the measurement.
4. Measure from the tip of your hairline to the bottom of your chin.

Oval Face - Length equal to one and a half times width.
A lot of different hairstyles look good with an oval face shape. Short,
long and medium haircuts all look good with it; so you are very lucky.
You can wear a bob hairstyle, pixie, layered hairdos, up styles ...
anything you want.

Try to keep your hair away from your face because of the nice shape
it is worth being shown.
A ponytail will look good with this type of face.
Try to avoid heavy fringes.

Celebrities with an oval face are: Julia Roberts, Jennifer Aniston,
Cindy Crawford, Cameron Diaz, Sharon Stone and Uma Thurman.

I would go to a good hairdresser and get a good just below jawline or shoulder length cut that softly feathers in and frames the face and neck. This would minimise and soften the lines on your neck and chin area.
Ask for advice about the limpness but I would guess it is maybe fine and a bit oily, so you should try a volumising treatment / shampoo etc for fine oily hair, that should help. If you still need to tie back your hair there should still be enough length, don't scrape it back severely, it's unflattering and will weaken even more your fine hair at the hair line. If your cut if good it should leave feathery strands to hang loose when tied up that still soften and frame your face. Good luck.
