If god exists, then the universe is running on a dictatorship, and god is doing a very poor job indeed. I personaly, would like to see a new god in power.

You should be VERY careful in what you are saying and wishing for. It's not God that is doing a poor job it's man.. God gave man the power to make choices and we are making really bad ones not God. God is the best and most loving person ever. I will pray for you..
Also please know that everything that is happening is happening for a reason and if you would just read the bible you would know this and understand this also..

The bible has an explanation to why the world is in the state it is in!
If you cast your mind back to the Garden of Eden - u will remember the serpent (Satan) said to eve that god was tricking her and if she ate the fruit from the tree then she too would like god knowing good and bad! God had told Adam and eve that they could eat from every tree in the garden except that the tree of life because in the every day of their eating from it "u will positively die"
Satan effectively was directly challenging God’s power and authority and Adam and eve deliberately disobeyed him! In fact god had created Satan as one of his angels but he rebelled!

Which brings us to the next question, why didn’t God just kill Satan and Adam n eve and start over?

Because quite simply he is a just god and in perfect justice it would not be right to do that! And so directly after this happened a prophecy was formed "he will bruise him in the heel and he will bruise him in the head"
And believe it or not today’s problems and the entire bible all point towards this! The first part of this prophesy has already been fulfilled, in that Jesus death was a bruising in the heel from Satan i.e. it was temporary and not fatal due to his resurrection

If it is looked at from this viewpoint:

There is a king ruling a kingdom and one of his courts man comes to him and claims he could be a better ruler and tells his subjects that the king is lying to them to keep them in their place. Now if the king just had this courts man killed what would his court and subjects say about him?
So instead he allows him to rule for a period of time.

It is exactly the same scenario! God is allowing Satan to have control over the earth but only for a limited period of time the bible says he knows he only has a "short period of time" and describes him as the ruler of this world. If god had not allowed this, his power and motives would always be put to question.
The second part of this prophecy is still to happen - Jesus will bruise him in the head - this is a more fatal blow and will be permanent! We know this will be soon as we have been giving signs of the last days in Matthew 24v 3-12 some if which include nation will rise against nation, wars in one place after another, pestilence, food shortages, men will be lovers of themselves, greedy, extortionists, having no natural affection.. The list goes on.

The fact is we were created perfect but with free will! If god wanted to be a dictator, then he would not have provided that free choice which is why Adam and eve were able to sin even with their perfection. "Through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin thus death spend to all man"
Effectively the world's problems are from Adam and eve and Satan! I guess it goes to prove that Satan is incapable of ruling the earth!

You'd trust us to elect a God ? Look at where we got ourselves with governments already.

I think the poor job is the best evidence that the Tooth Fairy would make a better deity.

However, if you want my vote - YES for Ganesha.

I think that God is allowing us to self-govern but evaluates our results at the end of the day.
If I could vote for a God I would go for one of those cool Hindu types with the head of a monkey and 12 arms. Cool.

God election is called 'conversion'. I've never done it since I'm a polytheist, but I know several people who have. For some odd reason the minute they joined a religion that stressed taking personal responsibility and stopped blaming some dude named 'satan', their lives got better.

Imagine that.

Lets see

We have freedom of Choice

We have been given a planet to take care of.

We have the freedom to choose our destiny

We have a way of entering into paradise even though we did not earn it

Seems like the problem is the CHOICES man has made with the freedom.

The artist doesn't suck, it's just his art that sucks...

I don't buy into all this 'one' god bs, we came from something un-human and we as humans cannot define it with our limited form of communication. I think science is doing a better job than religion though...

Our God has been criticized for thousands of years - deal with it,
your ancestors did!
Either that or find something to be happy about - Oh look, gravity - yea!!!! (a new "god" could always take that away)
