You got good answers

Read the recommendations in your ab trainer.
As a rule of thumb, work your abs 4 or 5 timesa week with rest days taken into consideration. They are as important as the training days!
Work slowly to reach your goal, no point in hurting yourself or in overturning. Do enough abs as to feel that you have worked them, but do not over do them. It is more a matter of intensity and personal feeling that of time. someone might be 2 hours at a very low intensity and do very little for the abs, while a 15 minute session at a very high intensity could be to much.

Practise and your own personal experience will guide you best. Increase time or intensity as you get fitter.

As someone said before me, go for the middle section to star with, and watch your diet!!!!! (no fatty foods, no sugar)

You will most likely see results before the month is over.

Firstly, read the label. Secondly, whatever exercises you're doing for your midsection, you won't see really good results unless you take care of what you're eating. Tight abs are as much, or more, about low bodyfat so eat healthy, unprocessed, unsugary foods and control your carb intake according to your energy needs. If you get the diet part right, the working out is easy. Hit your abs from a variety of angles. A few sets for the upper abs, a few for the lower, and a few for the obliques. If you perform the exercises correctly, you shouldn't need to do more than 20-25 good reps in each set and the whole mid-section part of your workout shouldn't take longer than 10 mins - but don't rush it. Make each rep count so you get the full value out of it. Good luck.

the abdominals only need to be trained 2-3x a week, with days off in between training sessions. train them to failure, the actual number of reps is not important as long as the form is good.

ab training will not reduce fat stores in the mid-section. the body will release fat stores from that area when the level of body fat has decreased sufficiently.

first of all you aint gonna do it just by using that you need a well balanced diet and to be resting properly but usually half hour in the morning and another half hour at night will do the trick
good luck though its hard work
