Yes, to a degree. Volunteering is a great way to help people - if your heart is set on helping people.
Unless you turn selfish and do it to make yourself more "important" to society, add a notch to self-ego, and shout it on the roof-tops what you did for immediate gratification and recognition...I don't think my almighty creator would appreciate that.

I have no idea, but you can find out by asking any parent who has a child in the Peace Corps or some other really hard back-breaking job if they appreciate their children having to work that hard.
Whatever they say is probably the same thing God would say.

The only one who can answer this is the creator. Does this line up with the teachings - if so you can derive your answer that way.

Salvation comes from the Savior Yahoshua. The Messiah in me will make choices similar to the ones He made. So yes, it does please Him when we choose to do the right thing even when it is difficult.

it depends on wats your motive for doing that. if you're just trying to impress ppl or being forced into doing it without a willing heart, why would anyone, let alone God appreciate?

he can't because he isn't, but appreciation usually comes from the community or social group to which one belongs.
