I can't find it on either the safe woods or unsafe woods lists and was wondering if anyone knew. thanks!

I would say no. Cedar is high in phenols (wood oils)...and that is what makes it so aromatic. Phenols have been shown to cause liver dysfunction and respiratory illness in small animals. Pine also contains phenols, but not as much as the cedar. Pine is probably the #1 wood used in bird toys, and I haven't seen anything negative about that so far.

I just wouldn't feel comfortable with giving my bird cedar, even if it was well aged and weathered.

Cedar is ok. Maple's good. Just a sec...I'll grab you a list.

I don't think Cedar is on that list, but as long as it's not treated, I'm pretty sure it's ok. If you're still in question, just give a call to your vet and ask him.
